Homepage hit counter
The number counts homepage loads that run the counter script, including reloads; it is not a count of unique people. Cloudflare D1 stores one aggregate integer with start/update dates. The counter does not store IP addresses, cookies, fingerprints, user agents or visitor IDs, and does not identify individual visitors. If it cannot load, the display shows dashes rather than a made-up number.
Private contact
The contact form processes your name, email, optional subject and message to deliver and respond to your enquiry. Cloudflare handles the request and abuse verification; Resend delivers the email to my iCloud mailbox. Your email is used as Reply-To. Contact submissions are not put in the guestbook or an application database. Correspondence remains in the mailbox while it is needed to handle the conversation; you can ask for deletion.
Public guestbook
You deliberately submit a name/nickname, optional website and message, and acknowledge that these may be published. No email is collected. New entries are pending and non-public until reviewed; approved entries appear on the guestbook and may also appear on the homepage. Nicknames and links are not verified identities. Please do not include private information about yourself or anyone else.
Cloudflare D1 stores these fields, an entry ID, submission date, moderation status and moderation date. No IP address or request metadata is stored in the guestbook database. Approved entries can stay visible until removed. Pending/rejected entries older than 30 days are deleted when the moderation queue is opened. Database backups can retain entries until those backups expire; removal requests also cover checking relevant backups. Public pages may be copied by visitors or search engines.
To withdraw a submission or request removal, email the address below with the nickname, date and text or link identifying the entry. I may ask for enough information to avoid deleting someone else’s entry. Entries can be rejected or deleted from the moderation interface.
Security, cookies and storage
Turnstile is used on the two submission forms for abuse prevention and processes technical browser/network information through Cloudflare. Cloudflare also processes network information to serve and protect this website; that infrastructure processing is separate from the counter and guestbook database. Provider retention is governed by their policies.
The application does not set visitor-identification cookies or use local/session storage for tracking. It includes no advertising or marketing trackers. The administrator’s Cloudflare Access sign-in uses an authentication session cookie. Turnstile may use security mechanisms such as a clearance cookie if pre-clearance is enabled by the site operator; this is not a marketing cookie. No marketing cookie-consent banner is included for the current features. These descriptions are not a guarantee of legal compliance for every future configuration.
Analytics
No analytics script is bundled with this site. The live-page source audit on 1 October 2026 found no Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon. The public D1 counter works independently of any optional private analytics. If a separate analytics service is enabled later, this page should be updated before use.
